For 2019, Sweden’s second city, Gothenburg, welcomes the Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Continence Society. Not since 1981, when Lund was the host, has Sweden hosted the ICS and the local organising committee are working hard to ensure that delegates have, academically and socially, the best meeting possible.

Once again ICS brings together leading international, multi-professional experts in the science of continence and pelvic floor dysfunction in a single focused meeting which aims not only to disseminate newly discovered knowledge but to promote up to date application and implementation of current guidelines for management and treatment across a broad area of practice.

This year over 946 abstracts from 63 countries were submitted for presentation, in sessions which aim to challenge traditional ways of thinking about science and practice as much as to gain insights into current research endeavours. Dedicated sessions for nurses, physiotherapists and fundamental researchers allow many opportunities for discourse and networking, focused roundtable discussions and debate reveal views on common problems from multiple perspectives and state of the art lectures provide cutting edge education.

The three towers of the Gothia Hotel and Congress Centre form the modern, stylish site of the meeting which allows easy access to the city, its attractions and sights. Delegates will be able to sample excellent Scandinavian cuisine, explore the surrounding coastal islands or even take a roller coaster ride in the Liseberg park opposite the hotel, the combination of all which makes attendance at the 2019 annual scientific meeting a must!
