Action Bladder Cancer UK (ABC UK) is inviting specialist urology and cancer nurses to apply for funding to deliver nurse-led projects that improve bladder cancer care, patient experience and treatment pathways.
The ABC UK Nursing Grants Programme offers grants of up to £10,000 to support small, innovative projects developed and led by specialist nurses working in bladder cancer. The programme reflects ABC UK’s commitment to advancing research and care in an area that has historically been underfunded.
Specialist nurses play a central role in patient care, bringing invaluable expertise and insight into the challenges faced by people with bladder cancer. Through this programme, ABC UK aims to empower nurses to address the issues they identify as most important and to drive meaningful improvements in care delivery and outcomes.
Jeannie Rigby, CEO of Action Bladder Cancer UK, said: “We are delighted to be able to support specialist nurses through this programme. Their knowledge and experience are vital, and we believe they are uniquely placed to make a real difference to patient experience and treatment pathways. Despite its high incidence and mortality, bladder cancer has seen limited progress in treatment and survival over the past 30 years. By investing in nurse-led projects, we hope to help change that”.
Further information, including full guidelines and previous research projects supported by ABC UK, can be found on the ABC UK website. Applications for ABC UK research grants should be made directly to ABC UK through the application form on this web page, and the application window closes on 30 March 2026. Those interested in discussing a proposal further are encouraged to contact ABC UK at info@bladdercanceruk.org.
