Our very good friend Sophie Hornby, who many of you will know through her fantastic work at Fitwise organising conferences such as BAUN and ACP, is taking on the Hoka Semi de Paris, aka the Paris Half Marathon, in March 2026 to raise much needed funds for Samaritans, the mental health charity.

Sophie says, “I’ve faced my own mental health struggles over the years, but this past year has been especially significant as I’ve been learning to manage my OCD. It’s taken time, effort, and the incredible support of those around me to get through the hard days. Because of this, I truly understand how vital it is to have someone there to listen in those overwhelming, all-consuming moments. The support Samaritans offer, day or night, can be life-changing, and lifesaving, so supporting the work they do means the world to me. Running has truly become a lifeline for me over the past year, bringing joy, clarity, and calm to what can, at times, be a pretty hectic mental headspace. I feel so lucky to be able to give back to such an incredible charity by doing something I love, and I’d be so grateful for your support.”
Please donate what you can via the link below and join the Urology News team in wishing Sophie the best of luck in Paris.
