With ST3 Urology interviews becoming increasingly competitive, many applicants find that the greatest challenge is not knowledge, but delivering clear, structured answers under pressure. A new digital platform from SmashUrology aims to address this gap.
InterviewSuite is an avatar powered interview preparation tool designed to simulate real ST3 interview stations. Developed by UK trainees, it focuses on practising how candidates think, speak and respond dynamically to examiner prompts in real time.
The platform has been shaped with input from recent high-scoring candidates, including Mr Rizwan Iqbal, a urology registrar who ranked in the top 10 nationally at ST3 interviews. Reflecting on the motivation behind the project, he explains:
“I wanted to create a structured, realistic resource that reflects how ST3 interviews are actually run.”
Unlike traditional question banks that emphasise model answers, InterviewSuite uses interactive AI examiners to recreate the cognitive load of the interview environment. Candidates practise speaking out loud, managing prompts and structuring responses under time pressure, with structured feedback provided to highlight strengths, gaps and areas for improvement after each session.
